By way of introduction my name is Sheilagh. I’m a remake over 60 years, many times over. Some of you will relate, most of you will not. I’m a Canadian who has lived many lives picked myself up several times and has watched the world change with technology in just a few short decades and yet socially not change at all. iView is about personal insights of the baby boomer psyche and how people in the last few decades of life are struggling to make sense out a world they feel is out of control.
I truly hope you will come along for the ride there’s some real life Canadian history and some senior sexy, book and movie reviews and just down to earth conversation of a world that has the need to smile at itself.
Welcome to iView.
Hi Sheilagh – I’m sorry to hear about your health issues. Gary and Karen have been keeping us all posted and at the last meeting gave us your blog details! I’m now reading your blog with great interest. Wow – what a story. Also me being of Irish decent and a HUGE fan of R&B and high school “tribal” dances (Ha!) you are bringing back fond memories. But unlike you I was born to a man who on seeing my mom (5 years his junior) in 1937 at age 16 announced to her that he was going to marry her (to my mother’s complete horror and her mother’s great amusement!). 10 years later and right after returning from WWII he did and they remained life long lovers till the end! That difference aside my undergraduate degree is in English Literature and I’m really enjoying your writing style and I’m experiencing your blog like a journey down a river boat where you feel everything but from a safe distance. So please keep it up – I’m about 1/2 way through right now and will be back.
Be well
Hugs,
Tom
