Ok, at 60 plus you might want to know what the heck I am doing reading Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. This book topped the best seller list around the world. Selling over 70 million copies worldwide and rights sold into 37 countries, setting the record as the fastest selling paperback of all times, surpassing even the Harry Potter series. If you can believe that…
It has been quoted by some News Agencies as “Mommy Porn” and has a fan base composed mainly of married women over thirty. It is suppose to be a grown up take on “The Twilight Saga” created for the under thirty or even younger teenage generation. Which was all about obsessive love and heart throb with beautiful people, luxury and vampire lust? So, Fifty Shades doesn’t have the bite of Twilight but it certainly is on erotic romance trilogy which delves into light BDSM, dominance and submission role-playing in a very alluring way. It takes those everyday romance novels and extends them to another level.
I loved the story line and yes from time to time I felt all the exotic love making did get over played and to be honest I skimmed a few of those lines and paragraphs once I got the just of where it was going, but overall I thought the writing was really well done and it kept me reading to the end of the third book. It had some predictable twists and the relationship between Ana and Christian was all about love of our hearts, dreams and the lust of our bodies.
So, Senior Sexy read on…. We are not over the hill just yet and Fifty Shades of Grey just might help you remember that inner glow. We are all in need of a hug, some love and sexual play no matter the age. It just might help with the aches and pains…
And of course there is a movie in the works scheduled for release in 2014, starring none other than Charlie Hunnam. The young heart throb of “Sons of Anarchy”.
